It Means What It Is

The title of this micro-essay is the answer to the question posed by Prickles upon viewing each of the images above and below. She asked: "So what does it mean?" This same question is frequently asked about Life, Universe & Everything and the answer is the same. A more relevant question is: "How do I feel about it?" Of course, only you can answer that. Note that the quality of your life depends on the accuracy and precision (i.e., truthfulness) of your answer so you need to pay attention to what is actually the case.

"I think I like both of them," says Prickles, "though for different reasons." Good. It was my intention when I created these images to please you. Enjoy! "I trust," says Prickles, "that you found the act of creating them enjoyable." It required some, pardon the expression, work, but the prospect of pleasing you was pleasing to me and made the work worthwhile. "Can't get something for nothing, huh?" she says. Well, in this case I chose to rearrange the furniture of the universe so it took effort, but I could have simply chosen some fragment of the universe as it already is and just put a frame around it. That way I could have pleased myself by pleasing you with virtually no effort other than calling your attention to an opportunity for aesthetic enjoyment. But rearranging furniture can be enjoyable in itself. Up to a point. "I suppose," she says.
