DEPT. OF CLOUDSCAPES

Clouds From Both Sides

Pilots flying big commercial aircraft often have enviable views of some breathtaking cloudscapes. Naturally, they have been taking advantage of their privileged position to take great pictures. No longer: the new rules for commercial pilots forbid them to take pictures while on duty. I feel their pain. Fortunately, looking at clouds from below occasionally offers comparable photo opportunities and places with a clear view of the sky are accessible even to the hoi polloi. Herewith some views from a non-pilot's point of view.
